Explain the path taken by microorganisms from one specific portal of entry, through the establishment of disease, and end in their exit from one portals in the host.
Micro organisms gain access to human tissues via two main types of routes known as mucosal surfaces within the body like linings of the respiratory , digestive , reproductive ,or urinary tracts or epithelial surfaces on the outside of the body like the areas of skin that are either damaged or compromised due to insect bites, cuts or other wounds.
Infection occurs when microorganisms successfully colonize by enetering the body, growing and multiplying from there. Most often human beings dont get easily affected rather those are infected who are weak, sick malnutritionshed ,have cancer or are diabetic persons having supressed immune system. The microorganisms cause disease by destryoing cells and disrupting tissues and body functions. Some bacteria even produce exotoxins - a poisionous substance that is released into cells.
Soon after the initial time of infection , many pathogens are destroyed through natural immunal responses by the body. The oathogen may be engulfed by specialized white blood cells or made inactive by antibodies in the blood.
A portal of exit is the site from where microorganism leave the host to enter another host to and cause diseases and infections. Often microorganisms leave the host through nose or mouth when someone sneezes or coughs or instead moves out through faeces.
