The Door slammed with a big bang and there were screaming and loud piercing cries rising from the room of John. Those were the sound of John who broke down emotionally and physically after returning home from Hospital with numerous Head injuries after a fight with his class bullies Bob and Sam at School. The fight started as John accused Bob and Sam of stealing his assignments in front of the whole class. Bob and Sam both tried to defend themselves but the argument between the three got heated up and suddenly Bob, Sam, and John started fighting with each other and John hit his head and was rushed to the Emergency Room. At first John was happy that he won the fight and that while the fight was going on, his class was cheering him on. However, when it was night time John felt a sharp stabbing pain, extreme heat, and burning sensation in his head. A deep ache in his brain that kept occurring and he regretted and vowed that he will never fight again. He was in extreme pain for the whole week and even medications didn'nt helped him much in lowering the pain.
Every day John would say to himself " May be next time I would think before I act and I can avoid all the pain but as I got cheers from the class it is worth it ".
The horrible pains prevented John from going to School and participating in house hold chores which made him feel guilty as he used to take good care of cleanliness of the house and do other chores well. He was not a lazy person so staying in Bed was bothering him, further he was going through mixed emotions of anger, sadness and fear and the thought of facing Bob and Sam in the Class after few days was giving him sleepless nights as he felt that because the whole class cheered for him, Bob and Sam would be jealous of him and they would definitely revenge on him. Further John was not a quarrelsome person so he was embarassed to be seen as a quarrelsome person. He started feeling ashamed of himself and developed depression and anxiety. John felt that the apology of Bob and Sam was not reliable and they are definitely going to revenge him on his joining.
John said to himself " If Bob and Sam tries to fight with me, I 'll run to the Principal's Office for help even if everyone thinks I am scared of the fight let them think, I know what is best for me ".
Two Months passed, John recovered from the injuries. His biggest challenge of facing Bob and Sam at school was approaching very fast. John did'nt had any friends at School as he recently migrated from Guyana. On one bright sunny Monday morning John was getting ready for School feeling afraid, scared and frightened as he could'nt expect how he would be treated at School as he had joined the School recently and got into a brawl with his Class bullies. John entered the School and was surprised to see that there were lot of changes in the School environment. The Walls of the School were provided with information on safety, counseling and on why people should not bully others. The information on the Walls made John feel Comfortable emotionally and secured. John felt relaxed that he can get his issues sorted if he fell into trouble.
John entered the Class confidently assured of the safety. To his utter shock he was greeted with warm welcome and smile by his Class bullies. John felt appreciated and valued and he was very happy. John went to his seat. His seat was infront of his two bullies Bob and Sam. John was extremely nervous but was hiding his nervousness. He began taking out his copies and notes and started answering the questions.
Sam and Bob walked to John's seat and asked " How are you doing John ? Can you join us for Lunch? "
John was surprised and astonished at their friendly gesture. He accepted their invitation and joined for lunch with smile. Bob and Sam made John enjoy lunch with them and later on they became friends and used to hang out around. John learnt that Bob and Sam were sorry for the hurt they caused him and they learnt from their mistake .
