Whats the equation to get 5V in the 7805 VOLTAGE REGULATORS by connecting it to either 12 voltage or 9 voltage, Provide the diagram with the full steps solution.

Solutions

Expert Solution

7805 are the voltage regulator. One point you must note that higher the input voltage of the voltage regulator, higher will be the heat dissipation So, always use a heat sink with 7805 voltage regulators.

Heat generated = (Input voltage - 5)* output current

From the datasheet of 7805, the maximum output current is found to be

So, For 9V input voltage

Heat generated = (9-5)*250m=1Watt

Now, Here is the circuit diagram to use 7805 with 9V battery

The capacitors should be present in the circuit, it has a work of suppressing spikes. You need to connect the positive terminal of the 9V battery to the +V terminal and negative terminal of the 9V battery to the ground terminal of 7805.

Please Thumbs up
