A new genomic method, TSA-Seq, developed by the Belmont laboratory derives similar but somewhat different information.  The Belmont lab explains that whereas DamID measures “molecular contact frequency”, TSA-Seq measures “cytological distance”.

Explain how the TSA-Seq method works.  INCLUDE in your answer an explanation for why the Belmont lab says that DamID measures molecular proximity but TSA-Seq measures cytological distance (cytological means distances that you would measure in a microscope- ie over ~100s of nm to micron).

The Transportation Safety Authority (TSA) has developed a new test to detect large amounts of liquid in luggage bags. Based on many test runs, the TSA determines that if a bag does contain large amounts of liquid, there is a probability of 0.9 the test will detect it. If a bag does not contain large amounts of liquid, there is a 0.09 probability the test will conclude that it does (a false positive). Suppose that in reality only 1 in...

A Mexican laboratory developed a new vaccine against COVID-19, which should be stored at an average daily temperature of 8 degrees, with a standard deviation of 3 degrees. If the distribution of daily temperatures is approximately normal. What is the probability that: A) On a given day the temperature would have been between 6 and 9 degrees B) The first day a temperature of at most 7.1 degrees is reached is before 6 days

2. A new method is developed to determine the content of sodium in a biscuit sample. Student A gets the following results: 24.2, 23.9, 25.0, 23.7 and 25.2 mg, while student B obtains 22.6, 21.9, 23.2 and 23.1 mg. (a) Report 95% confidence interval of their results individually. What is different in this new 'multi-polar world' about information and its manipulation compared to, for example, the cold war period, where two 'empires' were locked in an uneasy tension and where stereotypes of 'east' and 'west', communist/socialist and capitalist prevailed?
