A DNA microarray has DNA sequences that are arranged on a grid which is used for transcription.

Researchers utilize microarrays in plant research such as in weed science research. Weed research includes weed biology, weed-crop competition, allelopathy, parasitic weeds, and biological control of weeds.

As DNA microarrays give information on the expression of thousands of genes in parallel that help researchers in plant–pathogen interactions.
