Discuss four elements you would incorporate into designing an occupation health hazard policy provided you're the human resource manager.

As a HR manager, the four major elements or factors that I will incorporate into designing an occupation health hazard policy will include :

1) Workplace Analysis :

The first most important consideration for designing the occupation health hazard policy will include undertaking a thorough investigation and analysis of the worksite. The various aspects such as working environment, safety culture, nature of operations, degree of risk etc will be evaluated in order to identify the shortcomings in health standards and determine the area requiring critical attention.

2) Hazard Prevention and Control :

The another element on the basis of which the health hazard policy will be designed would include the proper hygiene guidelines which will be established to lay down the standard of cleaning and sophistication. the hazardous areas will be assessed to ensure that proper prevention measures are undertook to maintain safety standards. The equipments or things with greater risk of damage shall be replaced by other less risky equipments. The facility shall undergo hygiene inspection constantly.

3) Training to staff and workforce :

The staff and employees will be trained and mentored so as to ensure that they understand the degree of risk in their jobs and susceptibility to accidents or damages. They will be trained to use the equipments, machinery etc in appropriate and intended manner, they will be specified the procedures or time within which work should be done to avoid haste etc. so as to ensure that preventive measures are used to avoid mishaps.

4) Management Commitment:

The management will be encouraged and promoted to offer their full support and attention to making the health hazard policy for workplace successful and reliable. Too management should be involved in assigning responsibilities to each area for Implementing the policy effectively.
