just use these questions as a template and plug in your answers as a bullet point list of fragmented sentences, much like taking notes or writing a simple outline. You should present 3-5 bullet points for each question. However, if you feel more comfortable writing each answer in paragraph form, you certainly may do so. 1. Why did slavery become so important in the American South? 2. What were some of the conditions and treatment endured enslaved people? 3. What were some ways that enslaved people tried to maintain control over their lives?
1. Slaves at the times of 1600 represented the Southern planters most significant investments and also about the bulk of their wealth. Building an enterprise at that time required a whole lot of labour. This, the American southern colonies were operating at that time as the agricultural economies which was thus largely driven by the indentured servitude and slavery to make the business happen and and operations grow.
2. Slaves suffered a lot of physicak abuse, during the work and outside of it. The government didn't have any restrictions and allowed the same treatment which was very harsh for the large plantations often managed by the overseers and owened by the absentee slaveholders. Sometimes there were treated more humanely but most of their lives have been brutal and only with physical and mental abuse for their life.
3. The life and the control leve for the enslaved people was harsh and brutal. These people were seperated from their family members and were taken to distinct places and countries where they have no control over their lives. They were not allowed to defend themselves against the violence from the whites, nor did they have any of the legal standing in the courts. They couldn't own any property, could not enter into any contract, nor they were allowed to leave their owner's property without having the permission. There was literally no control by the enslaved people over their lives.
