Rolling Vs extrusion:

• The pextrusion process helps manufacturing very long with cross section material constant throughout the product in one go as in case of rails
• intricate shapes can be formed from this extrusion process.The final product takes the shape of the die through which it is forced to pass through in hot state as compared to rolling which only produces flat surface by reducing the thickness of the part
• The surface is of higher quality in extrusion.
• Extrusion process is a single operation where final part is made contiously where as in the process of rolling repetitive operations are done with a series of rollers

Extrusion vs Die casting:

• Die casting process requires molten metal to be forcefully injected into a mold, called a die. .
• Tooling costs are lower for extrusion than for die casting.
