clearly... there is a huge step jump in the IE5 vs. IE6 level
meaning that this must have
5 electrons in its valence, and the 6th electron is already in it core configuration
so..
3rd period...
this must be Phosphoprous, which has 5 electrons in its valence shell
so when we take out hte 6th electron, the energy required will be so high as shown in IE6
