My science teacher says hydrogen and flourine make an ionic bond. Since flourine and chlorine are in the same group, I thought hydrogen and chlorine form an ionic bond as well. But I searched online and I found HCl is a covalent bond. Is HCl a covalent bond, and if it is, why?
