The government policies and programmes were based on the sustainability of the economy. Government tried to achieve development goals and targets which related to water supply, pollution management, recycle and reuse measures. The stable and secure society within inclusive growth rates are the major aims of most of the governments in the world. More reliable, fair and accountable governments will increase the trust among the people. Rather than a private entity, the government can act as the public platform to make and implement the policies by giving equality among the nation. Government sustainable policies have the ability to engage the citizens and stakeholders by providing relevant information and measures at proper time.

This kind of public platforms can find the needs of the nation in general perspectives. Most of the government used the 3-R approach (reduce, recycle and reuse) to attain the sustainability of their economic activities. Efficient domestic policy agenda will ensure the plan in remote areas and increase the confidence among the people who are not actively participated in the decisions making period. Government will support and respect the international commencements which played an important role in the sustainable plan. UN imposed several programmes and policies to increase the role and participation of government in this kind of activities.
