The electrical conductivity of a 1 M HCN solution is much less than the conductivity of a 1 M HCl solution because:
-HCl is a weak electrolyte, HCN is a strong electrolyte.
-HCl is a strong electrolyte, HCN is a weak electrolyte.
-HCN contains more atoms than HCl so it has greater mass.
-HCl has a greater mass than HCN.
-The charge on the chloride ion is higher than the charge on the cyanide ion.
Electrical conductivity is higher for a solution having higher concentration of ions. Stronger electrolyte higher concentration of ions.
