Identify the Bronsted--Lowry acid and base in the following neutralization reaction: NaCN (aq) + HBr (aq) ---> NaBr (aq) + HCN (aq)
Bronsted-lowry acid is a substance which give proton, where as bronsted-lowry base is a substance which accept proton
In above reaction
HBr gives proton therefore it is a bronsted-lowry acid
Whereas NaCN accept proton therefore NaCN is bronsted-Lowry base
