ABC is an isoceles right-angled triangle in which ∠A = 90°. Find ∠B and ∠C.

ABC is an isoceles right-angled triangle in which ∠A = 90°. Find ∠B and ∠C.

Solutions

Expert Solution

It is an isoclees right angled triangle

Hence let us assume that the two equal sides are AB and AC

Hence AB=AC

We have learnt that angles opposite to equal sides are also equal

∴ ∠C = ∠B

Let us assume ∠B = ∠C = x

From ΔABC,

We have learnt that from angle sum property of triangle that the sum of interior angles of a triangle is 180°.

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°

90°+ x + x = 180°

90°+ 2x = 180°

2x = 90°

x = 45°

∴ ∠B = ∠C = 45°

 Value of angles -

∠B = 45°

 ∠C = 45°
