Workmen's Compensation Act (P.N.D.C.L. 187) is the substantial law of Ghana which guarantees the right of workers to a decent wages and that no entity shall deprive the citizens of their property without due process or compensation.

The law provides that the worker irrespective of his status who sustains injury out of and in the course of his employment must be paid by the employer.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has increased day by day and state wide stay at home order was issued, employees of variety of industries were asked to come for work and due to the continuous exposure to outside home, these people are more likely for COVID-19, in such circumstances the Workmen's compensation act played a vital role.

If during exposure to outside work, any positive result found diagonosed by the physician then the proof can be submitted hence claim can be attained.

Thus we can say that Workmen's Compensation Act is important to the employees.
