* Metabolism is a term that is used to describe the bio-chemical reactions that take place in living cells and are essential for the survival of living organisms.
* Catabolism. It is the category of metabolism in which larger molecules are broken down into smaller ones.
* Yes. Anabolic reactions are the other category of metabolism, in which smaller molecules join to form larger, complex molecules. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins.
* Glucose. It is the simplest sugar and living cells can use it to produce energy in the form of ATP.
* CoA is synthesized from Vit B5, called pantothenate. Foods such as meat, cereals, legumes, milk, and eggs are rich in vit B5
* Aerobic metabolism takes place in the mitochondria of the cells in the presence of oxygen. The reaction ends with the net production of H2O, CO2 and an ample amount of ATP, depending on the substrate which has been oxidized [ sugar, fats or proteins].
* Anaerobic pathway is the main energy provider during short, intense exercises.
* Anaerobic means without air or without oxygen. It is a respiration pathway by which sugar is broken down in the cytoplasm in the absence or presence of very little oxygen.
* Lactate
* True. Due to low carbohydrate diet for a long time, the body's glycogen store becomes depleted and the body starts using fats as fuel to produce energy.
