Organisational change could be defined as the process of growth, decline or the transformation within the organisation changing the entire system in it. Organisations change all the times being it on personal level, structural level or strategical levels. It takes many different forms and the change is done to ensure and meet the changing environmental needs and dynamics. The 3 main types of organisational change are:
1. People centric change: This is the change which is generally related with the people working on the organisation or on the personal levels. For example, change taking place in human resource policies or changes taken place to the employement benefits and opportunities where the employees are directly affected because of this change.
2. Strategical change: These are the change taking place in the strategical goals, techniques, missions and how the company is able to witness and work in accordance with the environmental changes happening in and out the organisation. For example, change in strategy from cost leadership to differential strategy as per the changing market needs.
3. Structural change: At last, this is the type of change taking place where the company would change the structure of the organisation as per the changing strategy of the environment. The structure and how the work flow are divided, the distribution of the work and the layout of the company comes under this category. For example, the change of divisional structure or a functional structure is the way how people would be appointed and tasks would be distributed.
