what is the concentration of Sucrose solution prepared by adding 200mL to 500mL of a 4.50 M Sucrose solution?
We will calculate the concentration using equation,
M1 V1 = M2 V2
Here, M1 = Initial molarity = 4.50 M
M2 = Final molarity = to be determined
V1 = Initial volume = 200 mL
V2 = Final volume = 500 mL
Putting this values in above equation we get,
4.50 M x 200 mL = M2 x 500 mL
900 M = M2 x 500 mL
Therefore,
M2 = 900 / 500
= 1.8 M
Therefore molarity of sucrose solution is 1.8 M
