Millie Palmer, age 76, is admitted after suffering an apparent cerebrovascular accident (CVA) [stroke]. She has left sided hemiparesis (weakness) and poor bladder control. She is confused and somewhat groggy. A computed tomography (CT) scan shows that the problem is from a thrombosis (clot), and she is started on heparin to prevent further thrombi from forming

Answer - Millie Palmer suffering from stroke attack ( brain attack), clot formation at right side brain part. Due to hypertension it cause more risk, blood vessels of brain become rupture and blood collect inside brain tissue cause accumulation, clotting . Brain 's tissue become necrosis and this cause nerve degeneration occur if clotting in brain' s right side it affect body's left part of body and which causes hemiparesis, loss off bladder functions.

The physician will prescribe Heparin which prevent against further clot formation or any thrombi in brain tissue or prevention from further brain complications.
