The physician orders 30 units of isophane insulin suspension (NPH) subcutaneously. The vial contains 100 units mL. Only TB syringes are available for administration. How many mL of insulin must be administered?
One insulin syringe = 40 Units ----------------->1ml
30 Units present in ---------------> X
Cross multiplication, X = 3/4 = 0.75
TB syringes are represented in the form of 0.1 ml, 0.2 ml, etc.
So, 0.75 ml of insulin equals to 30 Units of insulin.
