An Iv solution, prepared by addjng 100 units of regular insulin to 200 mL of natural saline, is infusing at a rate of 10mL/h. How mang units of insulin are infusing per hour, i.e, units/h?

Solutions

Expert Solution

200 ml of saline as 100 units of insulin

That means one unit of saline has 0.5 unit of insulin

Since infusion rate is 10 ml per hour,

that means we are infusing 10 x 0.5 units of insulin = 5 units of insulin

insulin infusion rate is 5 units per hour
