What are the definitions of the following terms:

Definitions.
1. DNA - it is the deoxy ribose nucleic acid which is helical in shaped and double stranded which has the capacity to replicate and have a role in the determination of the traits which are inherited ( passed on from parents) of various organisms.
2. Chromosomes - these are the rod shaped and dark stained bodies which are seen in the metaphase stage of the mitosis which is discovered by Strausburger (1875).
3. Gene - It is known as the genetic unit of genetic information or it can be also said as that segment of dna on a specific chromosome which codes for a specific trait
4. Allele - The alleles are those alternate versions of the genes which is coding for the same trait or it can be also said as different form of the same gene.
5. Locus - it is place where a specified gene is located along the length of the chromosome.
