You’ve got both accounts and economics exams coming up really soon. You can either spend your time reading 40 pages of economic notes and 30 pages of accounts notes. Or, you can spend your time reading 30 pages of economics notes and 60 pages of accounts notes.
(a) First assume that how many pages you can read per hour doesn’t depend on how your time is allocated. How many accounts pages can you read if you spend all your time on accounts?
(b) How many pages of economics can you read if you spend all your time on economics?
a). 100 pages will take about 2.8 hours to read for the average reader and statistical average is 55 to 65 pages an hour though.
You may read faster or slower than this depending on your average reading speed. Adults typically read at about 300 words per minute when reading for enjoyment. However, technical material such as operating manuals, manual repair guides, or complicated scientific research typically require more focus and attention to detail which can slow reading speeds down to 125 words per minute. College students typically need to be able to read at 400-450 words per minute in order to quickly consume textbook content. And can read 40 pages of accounts in an hour as it contains statistical reading.
b). Similarly it depents on how you read and how much it is important to you. You have test soon and need to complete your economics note depents on your reading speed but you definitely can read more economics pages than account's pages as it contain statistical reading. if you spend all the time on economics you can complete it in half time as compared to accounts.
