Covid-2019 is a virus dependent pandemic problem in the world. It is more related to the immune system. If you were able to design functional foods, what nutrients would you like to select, and why? Please consider liquid and solid food types and their production process, and benefit for human health.
Citrus fruits contains high concentration of vitamin C the vitamin C plays a important role in increasing the production of white blood cells . There is no storage form of the vitamin C . It has to be taken daily to maintain higj immunity as in the case of Covid - 19 pandemic Garlic has a very high quantity of sulphur in the form of alivin and helps in boosting of the immune system. Beta carotene also plays important role in boosting the immunity. B- carotene has an antioxodent property that is used to reduces the inflammation and increasing the neutrophils at the site of inflammation . The richest source of the B- carotene is sea food and the carrot . Vitamin E has also anti oxident properties and it reduces the inflammation in case of viruses amd reduces the free radicals and boost immune response. The complimentary immune system is responsible to reduce the replication of viruses in the body. Therefore the diet that is rich in proteins are very important . Sources of proteins are meat, egg , milk, and sea foods, zinc minerals also necesary for the production of white blood cells sources of zinc includes beans , lentils, seeds etc.
