Is trust in the police important? Why/why not? How do we mend the relationship between Black residents and the police?
Trust is a very precious word but its impact is very disastrous when its broken whether it is form of personal, professional and law and order administration.
I have seen law and order administration very closely and felt it’s charismatic but famous saying grass of other side is not always green as implications of law and order is also badly influenced by cast creed and political parties which break trust of common man/citizen.
There are several instances where a common man /person struggle to file a single compliant and which dethrones the trust in law and order. Police and fraternity is not influenced by any biasedness as it will be dishonest to raise question mark on this while fraternity, as there are police personnel all across world who have served their duties with full dedication and honesty and they have served the humanity on adverse situation like natural calamity, riot , and in pandemic situation like now .
When social systems continually fail, the end result is distrust. The impact of broken social systems is seen in the often tense and sometimes even hostile relationships between law enforcement and the Black community. Neither police nor Black individuals are inherently bad and both are trying to do their best. But there is a level of distrust that causes a heightened sense of insecurity for everyone involved.
To mend the relationship between black and police is uphill task and it can’t be dealt in one day, several social welfare programmes can be initiated to mend the relation, various educational programmes can be conducted by police .Police have to build relation as they have to provide mental, social security as how to make them feel safe and secure. Several NGOs are playing vital role in making the bridge between law and order and between black
