C. Include thrombus formation, a clot moving with the circulatory system
D Are caused by Vitamin K deficiency
Thromboembolic disorders- ANSWER C- Include thrombus formation, a clot moving with the circulatory system
EXPLANATION-
In thromboembolic disorders, blood clots (thrombi) form in blood vessels and it travels. The term used for clot when it travels is called Embolus (singular) and Emboli (plural).
An embolus is a blood clot that travels through the bloodstream and blocks an artery.
The other statements cant be true as - (explanation given down below)
A. Result in uncontrolled bleeding.- FALSE. thromboembolism is the opposite of uncontrolled bleeding, it is the hyper activity of platelets that causes clot formation.
B. Include thrombus formation, a clot in a broken blood vessel- FALSE. this usually happens in the cases of fall of acute injury. the clot formed due to broken vessel is actually a defense mechanism of our body to prevent excessive blood loss or to prevent internal bleeding which is very much fatal depending on the site of injury.
D Are caused by Vitamin K deficiency- FALSE. vitamin K is the one which helps in formation of clotting factors, deficiency of this vitamin should actually cause excessive bleeding rather than clots!. which is quite opposite to what thromboembolism is.
