These chemicals are proved to be harmful to humans and animals health. Some people don't eat food that was harvested from plants where fertilizers and other toxic chemicals were used, they like to consume "Organic Produces" only. What do you think from a scientific point of view? Do you agree with those who eat "Organic Produces" only and why? or why not?

Absolutely Organic Produces are good for health. But Organic produces will not be sufficient for each and everyone of 7.6 Billion Population of the world or we believe so. Pesticides and Fertilizers may promise to be very effective in increasing the quantity of production. But the truth is that it has very adverse effects on both the human health and the soil.

Speaking about effects on human health, pesticides are substances which are poisonous enough to kill the pests and other organisms affecting crop production That small amounts of poison will continue to remain in the crops even if we clean the outer parts some part of the crop must have absorbed fraction of pesticides. These small quantities when taken continuosly for long time which we are doing usually will lead to various health problems.

Speaking about of effects of pesticides on soil in addition to eradicating pests, the purpose for which they are used, they also affect the microorganisms that will help in agriculture and they will be absorbed by the soil leading to toxicity of the soil.

Fertilizers also have similar effects on human health as well as the soil.

Whereas there are natural Fertilizers available such as vermicompost, and organic wastes of animals which are very rich in nutrients and essential elements required for Healthy crop growth such as Nitrogen, Phosporous, Potassium etc., This will have almost no effect on Human health and soil.

Hence by eating Organic produces You are helping in maintaining your health as well saving the agricultural land for future generation by protecting the soil from getting detoriated

One of the most common types of fertilizers used by farmers is a form of the highly soluble salt ammonium chloride (NH4Cl). At a certain farm, water runoff from fields carries dissolved ammonium chloride to a nearby pond, resulting in a dissolved concentration of NH4Cl in the pond of 5 mg/L. At the same time, ammonia gas (NH3) is being produced by cows that feed around the farmer’s pond, resulting in an atmospheric level of 500 ppb above the water...

An agricultural land prone to rainfall showed that the pesticides used over the crops have been washing off to the nearby lake due to surface runoff. Surface runoff is a process by which pesticides are transported in dissolved or particulate forms along the surface of sloping agricultural land. In addition, the soil has high permeability, initial site visit showed that vertical downward displacement of these pesticides through the soil profile and the unsaturated zone, finally reaching groundwater might also a...

Discussion Topic 2: There have been major controversies in the last several years about vaccinations. Are they bad? Are they good? Do they cause things like autism? Do they generally do more harm than good or vice versa? What evidence is there on both sides of the argument? Is any of it clear cut? Would we be better off if we got rid of vaccines?
