Answer: The prevailing theories of crime control are as follows:
A. Direct Control: where someone assigned with the task of policing the act of people in the society and in case they find someone involved in act of crime they sanction them for the crime they have committed.
B. Conformity at stake: In this kind of control comes from the value of the relationship and assets that a person will lose if they involve themselves in the act of crime.
C. Internal control : Some person has greater amount of internal control which restrict them in indulgence of any act of crime.
D. Social Control: Crime is antisocial act and the pressure of social norms and standard act as the control for the people in the society to refrain themselves from act of Crime.
These control system which are there in our society helps to reduce the burden of policing by restricting the large and significant number of society members to get involved into the act of crime. The data shows that the most successful theory is the social control system, That is why a better social infrastructure, higher access to health and education and social upliftment helps in reducing the level of crime in any society.
