This unit houses a large waiting room with an indoor play area; two cafes; eight operating room suites; outpatient recovery rooms for 1-day stay procedures; 60 private inpatient pediatric rooms with a single bed for adults wishing to spend the night; three specialty rooms for art, music, and physical therapy; 12 pediatric intensive care beds; and one helicopter rooftop landing site. The hospital administrators wish to market the new pediatric unit as the leading facility in the state. The pediatric design architects know how to utilize the space for efficiency and utility, but they need help with creating a positive, healing atmosphere within the overall space as well as in the specific units. Space needs to work for children of all ages, parents, family members, nurses, therapists, and healthcare providers.What type of qualitative study would answer the concerns of the design architects?
