Breifly describe two methods one might use to find the molar mass of a newly synthesized gas for which a molecular formula was not known.
1). as we know the ideal gas law as
Where P=pressure in atm, V= volume of gas in litre , n= number of moles of gas, R=is the universal gas constant, and T is temperature in Kelvins.
Method 1st :)
if we know P, V, T then just plug in the values in equation
and find n then use the formula
Where m= mass of gas in gram, M is the molar mass of the unknown gas.
