The concept of death has numerous sociocultural definitions. Demonstrate your knowledge of these distinctions by describing some ways that different cultures view death. Then describe any five ways that Kalish (1987) believed that death could be viewed (e.g., death as a fear). Be sure to provide at least one example of each way.
Within societies various religions,philosophical and ethnic groups define a range of and determine responses of behaviour feelings and rituals.Within any society or culture there are differences there is a distinct psychological process of grief and death.There are different ways each culture responds to death and grief.Death is universal and there are patterns that how each one responds to death.Some believe that death is natural part of human existence,refusal to belive death could take away anything and it could be overcome.There are many different religious and belief systems across the world where some believe death is perpetual development,death is a continuation of life,death is cycling and recycling.Cultural differences in people exist how people view death in younger and older people.Culture includes norms governing the imperatives imposed by death,such as corpse must be looked after,deceased must be places in a new status,solidarity of his group should be reaffirmed,his bereaved should be comforted and re established.
