Insurance agents frequently emphasize "service" in their advertisements. What services should clients legitimately expect from their insurance agents?
The following services the insurance agent should provide to their clients-
1) Financial Information - The insurance agent should educate their clients on various types of insurance policies available, companies offering these policies etc. The agent must also answer all the queries of the clients related to general personal finance.
2) Conduct risk assessment - The agent should assess the risk bearing capacity of the individual and suggest policies for managing the risk.
3) Monitor the coverage - The insurance agent should actively monitor whether the insurance coverage is adequate. If the insurance plan is not sufficient to cover the risk, the agent should purchase additional coverage
4) Assist with claims - The agent should monitor the claims to ensure it is processed promptly> If the claim payment is delayed or denied, the agent can talk to the insurance company to speed up the payment process.
5) Serve as an advocate - The insurance agent should help the clients in dealing with a variety of issues relating to insurance policies.The agent should work on behalf of the client to resolve their problems.
