referencing this week's readings and lecture, describe the six steps in the systems approach and apply the systems approach to improving the quality of an accounting information system
Six steps in the system approach to improve the quality of an accounting information system are-
1. Define the objectives and problems concerned regarding accounting information system. List out all the problems such as
(a) Whether there is any bug in the accounting software .
(b) Whether desired financial data is available or not.
2. PLANNING - Now the second step is to plan for improvement in accounting information system. One best plan among all other plans is to be selected which is best suited and appropriate for the particular accounting information system.
3. SYSTEM ANALYSIS- The third step is system analysis. It is about analysing and evaluating different methods to improve the quality.
4. SYSTEM DESIGN- The fourth step is to provide fine details of the solution chosen by the analysis process to avoid errors.
5. IMPLEMENTATION OF SYSTEM- Now in this step, selected technology or method is placed in operation to improve the quality of accounting information system.
6. SYSTEM EVALUATION AND MONITORING- In this last step, it is now evaluated whether the new technology or strategy or method is providing the desired results or not. Whether the main purpose of quality upgradation is achieved or not.
