Renee is studying the effect of positive reinforcement for her psychology She gets 16 pigeons. These pigeons are from eight egg clutches with two pigeons from each clutch. Renee matches/pairs each pigeon in Reinforcement Schedule A with its clutchmate in Reinforcement Schedule B. After training the pigeons, she measures the number of correct responses by each in 10 trials. Using a two-tailed test and , α =0.05, use the data below to determine whether or not there is a difference between the two schedules.

1 ) Here we are given two sample test , There are total 16 Pigeons , Renee matches/pairs each pigeon in Reinforcement Schedule A with its clutchmate in Reinforcement Schedule B ,
So, here we have to use Two sample Independent T test .
So, hypothesis will be
2) Degrees of freedom = (n1 -1) + (n2-1) = (8-1) +(8-1) = 7 +7 = 14
3)Here test is two tailed , And given alpah = level of significance = 0.05
So, using T table critical value with 0.05 level of significance and 14 degrees of freedom is 2.145
So, critical values are (-2.145 , 2.145 )
4) Formula of t test statistic is
5) Here T test statistic = 1.288 and critical values are (-2.145 , 2.145 ) , So test statistic is less than 2.145 and greater than -2.145 , So we do not reject H0 at 0.05 level of significance.
So, we conclude that there is not a difference between the two schedules.
