A good friend of yours hears you are taking a course in "positive psychology." He/she has never heard of "positive psychology" and asks you to tell him/her what the course is about and when and why psychologists became interested in the field. Contrast the issues of particular interest to positive psychologists with those coming from the medical model approach.

POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY

                        Nowadays most of the people giving free advice to their struggling friends that “think positively”. They are talking about positive psychology unconciously.

                       First of all I’m begining with the psychology. Psychology is scientific study of human thoughts and behaviour. Positive psychology is seeing bright sides of human thoughts and behaviour. In other words positive psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living.This is the psychology should ignore the very real problems that people experience.

Need for positive psychology today’s life:

1.People are living in competitive world. So they always comparing them with others and losing their happiness

2. People living busy life results they are facing psychological problems

When psychologists became interest in this field?

                From last two decades psychologist became interested in this field. Because Where problem will araise there psychologists will focus. Nowadays people thinking negatively due to their busy life, competetion life. So now psychologists interested in positive psychology.

Why psychologists became interested in this field( in medical model aspect)?

1.By applying positive psychology we can reduce anxiety, bipolar disorders, depression and ADHD etc..,
2.By applying positive psychology we can generate hope on psychologically disturbed persons
3.We can give long life to people
4.We can give happy life to people

Careful study of issues related to the field?

1. Human lifes are involved in our treatment so we have to deal patients carefully otherwise issues will rise

2. We have to understand that why patient became psychologically disordered person .Then only we can find solution

3. No patient will accept he has psychological disorder. So first of all we have to convince them in this way. With out patient cooperation we can't cure the problem
