1. The largest source of media messages about food (snacks) to
children, especially younger (2-11 yr) children, is
television.
This is the best method to reach out towards toddlers, preschoolers
and schoolers.
Multiple techniques and channels are used to reach youth, and this
Manipulation starts when they are toddlers because it is easy to
influence their behaviour for purchasing food products like
snacks.
Marketers appear children in their brand of product because this is
related to two major factors:
a. children's positive experiences with a brand and other youth
influence easily.
b. parents liking that brand.
Marketers know that toddlers and preschool children can
successfully negotiate purchases.
By using famous TV children faces they provide a message for snacks
brand so that children ane parents accept their product.
2. Due to unhealthy food population mainy youth suffer from obesity
and many more diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure.
Prevalence of obesity in the United States has more than doubled
for children aged 2-5 years and 6-11 years and more than tripled
for adolescents aged 12-19 years.
Healthier approach for food and snacks marketing:-
•Packaging of snacks should be environment friendly. Product should
look attractive.
•Offer small packages to costumers for less food wastage and less
cost.
•Organic and natural snacks are much more healthier so should be
included.
•Advertisement of marketing brand should be with popular
brand.
•Main approach is that snacks or food products should be low sugar
and low fat for the health issues of children.
