ANSWER:-
My se-xual orientation is heterose-xual. This implies that I am a woman (gender) and am attracted to men. Being a heterose-xual does not give me a special privilege in the society, nor do I feel as if I have an extra ability or an extra skill set. It just saves me from the extra humiliation that most of the “abnormal” people or the people of “deviant” se-xual orientation face. Being a woman, it is anyway difficult to deal in a male dominated society. I do not get the extra liberty as the men do. I do not get the liberty to miss a deadline on submission , even by a day, as the male colleagues might miss. The boss is liberal with the male colleagues and he freaks out if I miss my deadline even by a day questioning every work that I have done till date.
Being heterose-xual just saves me from being called a freak show or a weird person. Imagine the marginalisation that les-bian women might be facing. I have heard some of my colleagues being labelled as paraphilic or sometimes their interest of homose-xuality being linked to gender dysphoria. They tell me the signs and signals that they often get from same male bearers of society. Some of the members of the LGBT community also claim to be isolated from some community gatherings or even family dinners at times.
Strangely, what comes forward is that heterose-xual makes feel that they have the right to humiliate anyone or anybody different from their gender or their form of se-xual orientation. They feel like they have been given a power that resides way above anyone else and hence in exercising that power, they tend to not think of morality, values or emotions.
