What is the connection between Electronic
Circuits and modern digital communication
systems?
Electronic circuits are of 2 types analog (electronic circuits) and digital (digital circuits). These types of circuits are distinct in types of voltage and current variations. electronic circuits are those in which voltage and current vary through the given range. They can have infinite values within given range. Examples of these types of circuits are such as signal generators, radio frequency transmitters, and receivers.
In contrast, digital circuit is one in which voltage levels have finite values. Digital values are assumed to have 2 levels, high level and low level. High level is represented by logic 1 and low with logic 0. Digital circuits are called switching circuits because voltage levels in digital circuit are assumed to be switched from one value to other. These types of circuits work in sequential manner.
Electronic circuits are embedded with digital logic for eg. let us take an popular integrated circuit chip (IC) like 7402 , is NOR gate performs Or and And operation . Now if we see this IC it is performing its operation using digital logic that is 0 and 1 values.
But if we see how the chip is integrated with this logic the answer is Electronic properties. Using circuits and methods the chip is manufactured and using required levels of voltage, logic 0 and logic 1 is generated at 2 different voltage levels and supplied to IC.
