The demographic characteristic that has the greatest influence on crime victimisation. It has been shown that people living in the areas that are economically disadvantaged, are the ones, that would not be willling for reporting of a crime. The socio economic status of a neighbourhood is one of the primary reasons that idenfies the liability of crime victimisation.
It is seen that people with low income would be reporting the crime on a less likely basis as compared to people with high incomes. Also, that people with low income are more likely to be victimised. The victimisation rate is 47% in the people with low income as compared to people with high income, which is only 18%.it is said that people having higher properties, with income above 75000, are prone to property crimes.
