Find a common (i.e., a shared resource) that is tragic (i.e., is inevitably degraded) in your own life. It may be something that you observe in your town, school, or home, but it must have the elements of a "Tragedy of the Commons."
Share your story by considering the following questions:
Explain who shares this resource.
Why do they share it?
Explain how these people use the resource for their own individual gain.
Show how the result is the depletion of the resource.
What ideas do you have to improving the situation and enabling long-term sustainability of the resource?
Who would it take to implement such changes? What challenges would those people face and how could they be helped?
Governmet water tap in my backward area is shared resource.
my family, neighbors share this resource.
They use it to fullfill their water needs.they think it is a government tap and they dont need to pay for it so they use it for their individual gain. Most of the time they missuse it they drain a lot of water for washing clothes, for washing dishes,to clean the house. Where only one bucket is needed they use five buckets because it is a public tap.
Because of this level of water is decreasing.roads are also filled with water. Because of this government money is being wasted which government have put on the roads. This also has led to water scarcity.
There must be fixed time for water.and the amount of water should also be fixed .water should be recycled and there should be strict monitoring on usage of water. Government should impose fine on wasting water.
The government and local authority should take charge of this.
Initially they will have to face opposition from the people around because they are used to free water and flowing water.
The support of intelligent people and the power of government can help them in this. The government can encourage it by Street plays. Government can also encourage people by giving them reward.
