Malor structural difference in Plychaetes is in the presence of parapodia that helps in breathing which are fleshy appendages found in body axis as an otgrowth of body segment which acts as limbs helps in locomotion, protection and mainly helps in gas exchange.They are bilobed or unilobed. Dorsal lobe called notopodia and ventral one is neuropodia.Chaiten a bristle chitinus form helps fro support of parapodia. Cirri which are tennacle like projectionin in parapodia which has sensory function.
