What is the minimum distance between two trains? like regulations on Federal railroad association..
For example if 1 train left the station, when can the next train depart? like is there regulation for the distance?

aNS) as per indian railways, there are two types of train distance controll system: A) Absolute block system; B) automatic block working.

A)Absolute block system: It is designed by british for safe rail service; in this system, within a block at a time only one train can go and block length is generally 7km distance, i.e, a train will get green signal only when another train is more than 7km ahead of this train. according to this, there is always a distance of 6-8km between two train running on same line same direction and it maintains 6-7 min. time difference between two train.

B) Automatic block working: in this system, signal post is there at the interval of 500m; when a train crosses a signal post, it will show red signal untill it cover the next three block i..e,near 1.5-2.0 km. hence, there is always 1-2 km distance is maintained between two trains and it is fully automatic operated system.
