Give and explain one example of each of the following types of
evidence supporting evolution:
Molecular (biochemical) evidence
Anatomical evidence
Embryological evidence
Biogeographical evidence
Fossil evidence
Evidences of evolution:-
MOLECULAR EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION:- Comparative studies of metabolic processes, enzymes, hormones, blood , blood proteins, blood groups and various other biomolecules shows a close similarities amongst various organisms.
1. Metabolic processes:- A number of metabolic processes occurs in organisms. In different individual, their raw materials, chemical reactions, products, and mode of action are basically similar.
2. Anatomical evidence:- Anatomy is the study of internal structure.
HRADUAL MOFIFICATION:- Greater elaboration and speciality I found in organ systems as we study them from lower organisms to higher organisms. Heart is two chambered in fishes. Here there is no sepration between the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.
In amphibian it is 3 chambered.
In reptile it is 3 and half chambered. In birds and mammals it is 4 chambered.
Homologous and analogues organs are also examples.
3. Embryological evidence;- Embryology is the development of embryo from zygote till it becomes offsprings. Embryology indicates a number of evidences in support of evolution . In early embryological developments, each organism share the same development pattern.
4. Biogeographical evidence:-. It is the study of geographical distribution of organisms. It has 2 main branches. Zoogeography and phytogeography. Based on this , there are many evidences of evolution.
5. Fossils evidences:- it is under the palaeobiology. It is the study of past life based on fossils on rocks and fossils impressions. They are present in the sedimentary rocks. Fossils may be of different types.
1. Unaltered fossils.
2. Skeletal materials.
3. Petrification.
4 compression.
5. Impressions. Etc
