Give an example of each of the following. Be clear or explain
why it is an example.
- Convection
- Conduction
- Radiation
In addition, explain how the first and second of law thermodynamics
are different
When we heat one end of an iron rod and the other end gets heated it is an example of conduction. It happens when transfer of heat takes place and not the medium.
When we boil water and and all the water gets boiled uniformly that happens to the process of convection. It happens when the medium is transferred for transfer of heat take place.
The heat from sun reaches to earth through radiation. It happens in the absence of any medium.
First law of thermodynamics is simply the law of conservation of energy. It can be stated as the amount of heat required to system is either used in increasing the internal energy or in work done. He does not tell anything about the direction in which a certain reaction will offeroccur. Whereas the second law of thermodynamics states that entropy can never decrease over time which implies that it is not possible for heat to flow from lower temperature from object at lower temperature to object has temperature automatically. The second lot details regarding the direction in which a reaction will occur spontaneously.
