How are different types of arithmetic means calculated.?
like simple arithmetic mean,
weighted arithmetic mean,
arithmetic mean for continuous class ,
combined arithmetic mean.
i) Simple Arithmetic Mean:
Here we have a set of individual values with no frequency distribution.
ii) Weighted Arithmetic Mean
Weighted Arithmetic Mean is used when we have a frequency distribution like shown.
iii) Arithmetic Mean for Continuous Class
When there are continuous classes of observations with frequencies like f1, f2, f3........ we proceed as follows:
iv) Combined Arithmetic Mean
In case of combined data of multiple classes we calculate mean of each class and proceed as follows:
Arithmetic means are calculated using same premise of taking average but depending on the distribution of data like if there's frequency distribution or continuous class etc. the mean formula is modified appropriately.
