Find the density of Freon-11 (CFCl3) at 155.08°C and 9.08 atm.

Find the density of Freon-11 (CFCl3) at 155.08°C and 9.08 atm.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Given-

1)Pressure = 9.08 atm.

2)Temperature = 155.0°C.

Using Ideal gas law , pV=nRT

Where n = m/M ; Substituting in the formula we get,

pV=(m/M)RT

pM=(m/V)RT

pM=  ρ  RT          [ m/V = Density ]

  ρ = pM/RT          [R=0.0821L.atm K-¹mol-¹]

                               [M= 137.37 g/mol]

Putting values in the above formula we get,

ρ = (9.08×137.37)/(0.0821×428.15)

ρ = 35.4845 ~ 35.38 g/L.

Hence,the density of Freon-11 at 155.0°C and 9.08atm is 35.48g/L.

The density of Freon-11 at 155.0°C and 9.08 atm is 35.48 g/L.
