1. Main inpacts are caused due to quality of effluent and electricity usage during the process. Large amount of energy is being used to produce lightweight expanded clay aggregate. So it has major effect on life cycle during usage phase.

2. This system can cause eutrophication, human toxicity, acidification and ecotoxicity.

Impact of Oxidation ditch on Environment :

1. Effluent suspended solid concentrations are high compared to other other activated sludge processes.

2. It increases the effect of consumption of abiotic resources, acidification and global warming. But compared to other processes, effect is less.

Impact of Rotation Biological Contractor on Environment:

1. It majorly needs continuous electricity and even maintenance cost is also high. It produces odour and it may cause problems.

2. Faecal sludge and fertigation water will be out from the system and it needs proper treatment and maintenance by skilled persons. Otherwise it may cause problems to human beings and also to natural resources.
