1. The weight of Coca Cola cans is being analyzed. Thirteen cans, randomly selected from the process, are measured, and the results are as follows (in fluid ounces): 16.01, 16.01, 16.02, 16.03, 16.05, 16.07, 16.02, 16.01, 16.00, 16.01, 16.07, 16.05 and 16.05. Determine the following using the formulas (include all the formulas) and confirm your answer using Minitab.
a. Average
b. Sample standard deviation
c. Median
d. Mode
e. Range
f. Construct histogram using Minitab and determine Kurtosis and skewness (use Minitab only), comment on these values in relation to the histogram
2. A spring water plant manufactures water bottles. The weight of these water bottles in ounces are normally distributed with mean 17 and standard deviation of 1.
a. Find the lower specification limit such that only 3.3% of these water bottles will not exceed this limit.
b. What percentage of these water bottles have a weight below 15 Oz?
c. What fraction of these water bottles have a weight above 18 Oz?
3. A telephone ordering process call handling time (length) for in minutes for 20 randomly selected customer calls handled by the same sales agent are as follows: 6, 26, 8, 2, 6, 3, 10, 14, 4, 5, 18, 20, and 4. Construct a probability plot. Is this data normally distributed? Explain.
