What happens to the endometrium in mammals with estrous cycles??
In menstruating people
It is the inner layer of epithelium ,along with mucous membrane ,of mammalian uterus.during menstrual cycle grows to a thick ,blood vessel rich, glandular tissue layer. Becomes 1 cm thick. This represents an environment for implantation of blastocyst upon its presence.this is influenced by hormone progesterone estrogen produced by corpus luteum which is induced by human chrionin gonadotropin hormone . Inhumans fertilization does not takes place
Shedding of endometrium takes place with shedding of stratum functionale and a peels off.and break down of lining and tearing of blood vessel s of endometrium the loss of tissue and blood and altotal shedding of endometrium occurs with this.the coagulation factor is destroyed . So bleeding occurs.
In oestrous cycle endometrium underges resorption. Large number of lymphocytes and neutrophils .they have proestrousphase which shows vaginal secretions under influence of estrogen the endometrium develops.thecorpus luteum degenerates and liberates a fluid then comes estrous cycle and then metestrous cycle regression of corpus luteum occurs and uterus arrage itself for older form ..the older endometrium is resorped
