The study of urban ecology carries increasing important because more than 50% of world population today lives in urban areas.

Because Cities are home to more then half of world population. Cities have been center of economic and social devlopments, as well as source of many major environment problems.

Cities are created and maintained by the most intense from of human nature interaction. Cities are spetially extend, complex adeptive system- which we called landscape.

The future of humanity will incrisingly rely on cities, and the future of landscape ecology will enevitably be more urban. To meet the grand challenge of our time- sustainability- cities must be made sustainable and, to this end, landscape ecology has must to offer. In this chapter, we discuss the intellectual rate and recent development of urban landscape ecology and prupose a fremwork for helping move it forward, this framework integrates perspective and approachs from landscape ecology, urban ecology, sustability science, and resilience theory.
